Overview: These videos are an introduction to Online Safeguarding and what this actually means in practice given many online safeguarding courses lean towards e-safety or fail to cover the breadth of issues and how young people experience these issues. This short course goes beyond the dangers and risks and discusses what you may need to listen out for with young people and children and how to have those sensitive conversations. As KCSIE 2021 now stipulates that we all need to learn about the online and digital world(s) if we are present in schools, this gives practitioners involved in Safeguarding a light in the endless tunnel of online overwhelm and gives you an explanation of what may be a safeguarding concern. These videos are suitable for non teaching roles such as pastoral staff, counsellors and other third party roles that schools employ. The videos cover what to report and the how would you know approaches to what children and young people may be experiencing.

These videos are not to be watched around children and young people due to the sensitive nature of some of the discussions.

Part 2: Topics covered are: Cyberstalking (covert and overt) CSAEM and Online Harms.

This video is an introduction to Catherine Knibbs’s training, and considerations that professionals and schools may need to add to their policies. This video is for safeguarding professionals and not parents. This will enhance and further develop your understanding of the topic.
